BIOGRAPHY
Ewa Vesin studied singing at the Academy of Music in Kraków and Wrocław. She pursued post-graduate studies in management at the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw, and further honed her vocal technique and educational competence at Yale University, USA, under the guidance of Professor Doris Yarick-Cross and Timothy Shaindlin.
Ewa begins the 2025/26 season with another important Wagnerian debut, singing Ortrud in a new production of Lohengrin at the Staatsoper Hannover. She will then return to the role of Abigaille in a new production of Nabucco in Antwerp and Luxembourg, followed by a return to Stuttgart for a new production of Turandot, where she will once again perform the title role. Numerous concerts are also planned, including Verdi’s Requiem with the RSB Orchestra in Berlin, conducted by Oksana Lyniv.
Ewa Vesin’s 2024/25 season included singing Turandot at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. She then made her debut in the Wagner repertoire as Brünnhilde in Die Walküre at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. Following this, she continued with Turandot in Prague, took on the role of Chrysothemis in Elektra in Verona, portrayed Abigaille in Nabucco in Toulon, and reprised Brünnhilde at the Opera of Beijing.
Highlights of previous seasons include Tosca at the Stuttgart State Opera, as well as in Oslo, Hannover, and Hamburg. Turandot in a new production at La Monnaie in Brussels and in Roma. Madame Lindoine in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites at Opera di Roma.
Ewa Vesin’s repertoire features leading roles in a wide array of operas, including Moniuszko’s Halka, Korngold’s Die Tote Stadt, Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, Prokofiev’s The Fiery Angel, Puccini’s Tosca and Turandot, as well as Wagner’s Tannhäuser, Die Walküre, Siegfried, and Götterdämmerung. Her versatility also extends to Giordano’s Andrea Chénier, Poulenc’s Les Dialogues des Carmélites, Verdi’s Nabucco, and Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana.
Throughout her career, soprano Ewa Vesin has collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned conductors, including Axel Kober, Krzysztof Penderecki, Oksana Lyniv, Kazushi Ono, Valery Gergiev, Alexander Liebreich, Paul McCreesh, Ernst Kovacic, Łukasz Borowicz, Michał Klauza, Benjamin Bayl, Bassem Akiki, Andrzej Boreyko, Michael Schoenwandt, Valerio Galli, Michele Mariotti, and Xian Zhang. She has also worked with distinguished directors such as Hans Peter-Lehmann, Ivo van Hove, Mariusz Treliński, Emma Dante, Michael Gieleta, Ai Weiwei, Rafael R. Villalobos, Silvia Paoli, Vasily Barkhatov, and Calixto Bieito.
Ewa is the recipient of the Special Prize and a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2007), and in 2010, she was awarded the Bronze Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis Medal. She currently serves as the Artistic Director of the International Antonina Campi Vocal Competition and holds a Ph.D. in Arts.
