French bass-baritone Lysandre Châlon is emerging as one of the promising young French singers of his generation, with a repertoire spanning Mozart, French Baroque and the concert repertoire. He collaborates regularly with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques and recently made his debut at the Opéra national du Rhin as Figaro in a new production of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro.

2026/27 SEASON

During the 2026/27 season, Lysandre Châlon continues his close collaboration with some of Europe’s leading period-instrument ensembles.

He appears with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques in Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie, touring with the ensemble to the Philharmonie de Paris, Barbican Centre in London and Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He also joins Les Talens Lyriques for Rameau’s Les Indes galantes at the Opéra de Dijon and Megaron Athens.

With Sébastien Daucé and Ensemble Correspondances, he appears in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, with performances in Grenoble, Caen, Rouen and at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, as well as in a programme of Bach cantatas at the Philharmonie de Paris.

At the beginning of the season, he also makes his debut at the Opéra Orchestre Normandie Rouen in a new production of Verdi’s Macbeth conducted by Pierre Dumoussaud.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

A major recent milestone was Châlon’s debut at the Opéra national du Rhin as Figaro in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, in a new production directed by Mathilda du Tillieul McNicol and conducted by Corinna Niemeyer.

His growing association with the French Baroque repertoire has led to regular collaborations with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques, including Lully’s Armide at the Opéra-Comique and Cadmus et Hermione at the Philharmonie de Paris. He has also worked extensively with Sébastien Daucé and Ensemble Correspondances in works by Charpentier, Bach and Buxtehude, and appeared as Joseph in Berlioz’s L’Enfance du Christ in Budapest.

His operatic repertoire further includes Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Leporello in Don Giovanni, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore and Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.

On the concert stage, Châlon has performed Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petite Messe solennelle, Dvořák’s Stabat Mater and Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem and Haydn’s The Seasons.

Lysandre Châlon studied at the Conservatoire de Meaux and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris before completing his Master’s degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he studied with Frédéric Gindraux.
