Colombian lyric tenor Andrés Agudelo is establishing himself in the Italian and French repertoire, with recent debuts as Rodolfo in La bohème, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor and Alfredo Germont in La traviata. He has appeared at Glyndebourne, the Bavarian State Opera, Teatro Mayor Bogotá, Opéra de Rennes, Angers Nantes Opéra, Teatro Verdi di Salerno and Opéra de Toulon, among others.

2026/27 SEASON

Beginning with the 2026/27 season, Andrés Agudelo joins the ensemble of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, where his roles include Alfredo Germont in La traviata and Chevalier Belfiore in a new production of Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims.

As a guest, he makes his debut at Oper Frankfurt as Pong in Puccini’s Turandot and returns to France as Edgardo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor at the Opéra de Reims.

His concert engagements include Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Missa solemnis in Bogotá under the direction of Lina González-Granados, as well as Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde in Amiens.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

The 2025/26 season marked an important development in Agudelo’s repertoire with his role debut as Rodolfo in La bohème at Glyndebourne, followed by performances of the role at Teatro Mayor in Bogotá. He also made his debut as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor in France, appearing in the production presented by Opéra de Rennes and Angers Nantes Opéra, and returned to the Bavarian State Opera as Beppe in Pagliacci.

Further recent highlights include Alfredo Germont in La traviata at Glyndebourne and Staatstheater Darmstadt, Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Teatro Verdi di Salerno, Beppe in Pagliacci at Opéra de Toulon, and Pong in Turandot at the Bavarian State Opera.

On the concert stage, Agudelo has appeared as tenor soloist in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the Zagreb Philharmonic and has performed repertoire including Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Mass in B minor and Dvořák’s Stabat Mater. He has appeared at the Philharmonie de Paris, Shanghai Symphony Hall, Bachfest Leipzig and Teatro Mayor Bogotá, where he previously performed Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy under Gustavo Dudamel.

Agudelo studied at the Universidad Central in Bogotá, La Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris, the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. He was a member of Opera Fuoco in Paris before joining the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera from 2019 to 2021. In 2018, he received the Thierry Mermod Prize at the Verbier Festival Academy.
