Julien Dran started his singing studies very early and at the age of 22 he already sang the swan in Carl Orff’s CARMINA BURANA. He then also performed at the Sacred Music Festival of Sylvanes. Since 2007 his career brought him to many different places like the Opéra de Marseille (AIDA, MIREILLE, MANON LESCAUT), the Choregies d’Orange (LA TRAVIATA) as well as to many prestigious competitions like the International Competition of Clermont-Ferrand, the Gayarre Competition in Spain (first prize in 2011) as well as the Paris Opera Award (first prize in 2012).
His repertoire covers roles like Almaviva/IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA, Fenton/FALSTAFF, Lindoro/L’ITALIANA IN ALGERI, Nadir/PECHEURS DE PERLES, Edgardo/LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR or Tonio/LA FILLE DU REGIMENT.
He made several major débuts including his Opéra de Paris début in 2016 in LA TRAVIATA and DON CARLOS in 2017. He also sang at the Opéra de Metz, in Bordeaux, Massy, Modena, Marseille, Brussels (where he recorded his first CD), Limoges, Fribourg, Avignon, the Festival Aix-en-Provence, the Chorégies d’Orange and the Opéra National de Paris.
Just recently he made his début as Paris/LA BELLE HÉLÈNE in Lausanne and sang LA FILLE DU REGIMENT in Avignon. More future projects will bring him back to Paris for ADRIANA LECOUVREUR and to Limoges as FAUST.
