BIOGRAPHY

The young Colombian tenor Andrés Agudelo graduated from the Universidad Central in Bogota and later from La Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris, the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris and the Queen Sophia School of Music in Madrid. In 2017, he was nominated by conductor David Stern for the Opera Studio (Opera Fuoco) in Paris.

From 2019 to 2021, he was a member of the Opera Studio at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.

His career has brought him to the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra with Gaston/LA TRAVIATA, to the Universidad Central Opera Studio in Bogotá as Bacolo/IL SIGNOR FAGOTTO, Borsa/RIGOLETTO at Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santodomingo, at Zurich Opera House, in Bogotá, and at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. He also sang in WERTHER and DER ROSENKAVALIER with Opera de Colombia and IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA with Opera Quanta Colombia, WEST SIDE STORY with Opera Fuoco in Paris and the Duca/RIGOLETTO at the Verbier Festival 2018. He also sang Don Ottavio/DON GIOVANNI at the Teatro della Pergola in Florence (including a LIVE recording on Warner Classics Italy). At Bavarian State Opera in Munich he sang Pong/TURANDOT in the role debut of Anna Netrebko in the title role and made his debut as Wilhelm Meister in the new production of MIGNON at the Cuvillies Theater.

At the 2018 Verbier Festival he received the Thierry Mermod Prize as the best student of the Opera Academy, in 2017 the Alejandro Gutierrez Medal from the caldas-Colombian government, and several other prizes in Latin America.

Solo performances include Beethoven's 9th SYMPHONY with the Young Symphonic Orchestra of Colombia, Mozart's REQUIEM with the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Patrick Fournillier, VESPERAE SOLLENES DE CONFESSORE with the Paris Chamber Orchestra conducted by Arianne Matiakh, and Dvorak's STABAT MATER with L'Atelier des Songes in Paris. He also sang in Bach's B minor MASS under David Stern at the Philharmonie de Paris and Shanghai Symphony Hall, and in 2015 was engaged as soloist in the Colombia-Venezuela Jubilee Concert in Beethoven's Choral Fantasy conducted by Gustavo Dudamel at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santodomingo in Bogotá. In 2019, he was also a guest at the closing festival of the BachFest in Leipzig at the Thomaskirche with Bach's B minor MESSE.

In master classes he has already worked with singers such as Barbara Frittoli, David Gowland, Margreet Honig, Javier Camarena, Reri Grist, Helmut Deutsch, Brigitte Fassbaender, Teresa Berganza and Ruggero Raimondi.

In the 2021/22 season he sang Andres/WOZZECK, the tenor role in Bach's WEIHNACHTSORATORIUM and Alfonso/LA MUETTE DE PORTICI at Theater Kassel and at Bayerische Staatsoper München he was a part of the new production DAS SCHLAUE FÜCHSLEIN as Hahn.

Recent projects: Harry/LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST, Gastone / LA TRAVIATA and Messaggiero /  AIDA at the Bavarian State Opera, Alfredo/LA TRAVIATA at the Theater Darmstadt and under the baton of M° Andrés Orozco-Estrada in Colombia as well as tenor soloist in Estevez's CANTATA CRIOLLA with MDR.

Upcoming projects 2023/24 are among others his debut as Beppe / I PAGLIACCI in Toulon and Heinrich der Schreiber / TANNHÄUSER at Bayerische Staatoper München.
